Add a Lesson Plan
Overview
The Add Lesson Plan feature allows authorized users to create structured lesson plans that can be reused across courses and instructional periods. Each lesson plan can include learning objectives, instructional content, teaching procedures, evaluation methods, materials, and academic standards to support consistent lesson delivery.
Lesson plans can be created manually or with the AI Lesson Plan Builder. The AI-assisted option guides users through key lesson details and generates a structured lesson plan that can be reviewed before being added to the Lesson Plan Library.
Note: Students and parents cannot create lesson plans.Create a Lesson Plan Manually
- Go to Lesson Plan Library.
- Click Add New Lesson Plan.
- Enter the required lesson plan information.
- Click Submit to save the lesson plan.
Create a Lesson Plan Using AI
The AI Lesson Plan Builder provides a guided way to create a lesson plan based on selected academic information.
Go to Lesson Plan Library.
Click Create Lesson Plan Using AI.
Select the Subject for the lesson plan.
Select the Course associated with the subject.
Select the appropriate Grade Level.
Choose whether the lesson plan should follow an academic Standard. If required, select the applicable standard.
Continue through the guided questions and provide the requested lesson information.
Review the generated prompt. You can edit the prompt directly or select Regenerate prompt to create a revised version.
Click Generate lesson plan.
Review the generated lesson plan.
Click Add to Lesson Plan Library to save the lesson plan for future use. You can also select Download as PDF to save a PDF copy.
The selections made during the guided process are displayed in the Your answers panel for reference.
Note: AI-generated lesson plans are drafts. Review the generated content for accuracy and suitability before using it for classroom instruction.Lesson Plan Fields
Complete the following fields while creating a lesson plan.

| Subject | Select the subject for which the lesson plan is being created. |
| Course | Select the associated course. |
| Lesson Identifier | Enter a unique name or identifier for the lesson plan. |
| Unit | Specify the instructional unit, if applicable. |
| Specific Topic | Describe the topic or concept covered in the lesson. |
| Instructional Goal | Define the overall learning goal students are expected to achieve. |
| Performance Objective | Describe the measurable outcomes expected from students after completing the lesson. |
| Rationale | Explain the purpose or importance of the lesson. |
| Lesson Content | Provide the instructional content or lesson material. |
| Instructional Procedures | Outline the teaching methods and classroom activities to be followed. |
| Evaluation Procedures | Describe how student learning will be assessed. |
| Materials and Aids | List the resources, teaching materials, or instructional aids required for the lesson. |
| Standards (Optional) | Associate one or more academic standards with the lesson plan. |
Add Academic Standards (Optional)
You can associate academic standards with a lesson plan to align instructional content with curriculum requirements.
- Scroll to the Standards section.
- Click Add Standards (Optional).
- Search for and select the required academic standard(s).
- Save the lesson plan.
Multiple standards can be associated with a single lesson plan.
Save the Lesson Plan
After entering all required information:
- Review the lesson plan details.
- Click Submit.
The lesson plan is added to the Lesson Plan Library and becomes available for future use.
Important Notes
- Fields marked with an asterisk (*) are required.
- Academic standards are optional but recommended where curriculum alignment is required.
- A newly created lesson plan can be edited or deleted until it is assigned to a class calendar.
- AI-generated lesson plans should be reviewed before classroom use.
