Add and Manage Courses

Overview

The Add and Manage Courses feature allows administrators to create new courses, update existing course information, and remove courses that are no longer required. Each course can be associated with a subject, program, grade level, academic standards, learning objectives, and one or more course sections.


Add a Course

  1. Go to Courses > Course Manager.
  2. Click Add New Course.
  3. Enter the course information.
  4. Click Submit.

The new course is added to the Course Manager.


Course Information

Complete the following fields when creating a course.

TitleEnter the course name.
Short Name / Course CodeEnter a short name or unique course code.
Grade LevelSelect the grade level associated with the course.
ProgramSelect the academic program for the course. You can also add a new program if required.
SubjectSelect the subject for the course. You can also add a new subject if required.
Credit HoursSpecify the credit hours assigned to the course.

Configure Course Details

Pre-requisite Courses

Select one or more courses that students must complete before enrolling in the current course.

Academic Standards

Associate academic standards with the course to align it with curriculum requirements.

Description

Enter a brief description of the course.

Learning Objectives

Add one or more learning objectives that describe the knowledge and skills students are expected to achieve upon completing the course.


Edit a Course

  1. Go to Courses > Course Manager.
  2. Locate the course.
  3. Click the More Options (⋮) icon.
  4. Select Edit Item.
  5. Update the required information.
  6. Click Submit.

The updated course information is saved immediately.


Delete a Course

  1. Go to Courses > Course Manager.
  2. Locate the course.
  3. Click the More Options (⋮) icon.
  4. Select Delete Item.
  5. Confirm the deletion.

The selected course is removed from the Course Manager.


Important Notes

  • A subject and program should exist before assigning them to a course.
  • Multiple pre-requisite courses can be associated with a course.
  • Multiple learning objectives can be added for a single course.
  • Academic standards help align the course with curriculum requirements.
  • Deleting a course may affect any associated course sections and scheduling data. Review existing dependencies before deleting a course.
