Copy a Lesson Plan

Overview

The Copy Lesson Plan feature allows authorized users to create a duplicate of an existing lesson plan. This is useful when a lesson plan needs to be reused for another course, unit, topic, or academic period without changing the original version.

Copying is also the required option when a lesson plan has already been added to a class calendar and can no longer be edited.

Copy a Lesson Plan

  1. Go to Lesson Plan Library.
  2. Locate the lesson plan you want to copy.
  3. Click the Actions icon.
  4. Select Copy Lesson Plan.
  5. Review the copied lesson plan details.
  6. Update the required information, such as the lesson identifier, unit, topic, objectives, or instructional content.
  7. Click Submit to save the copied lesson plan.

The copied lesson plan is added to the Lesson Plan Library as a separate record.

When to Copy a Lesson Plan

You can copy a lesson plan when:

  • The same lesson structure will be reused for another class or course.
  • Minor changes are required without modifying the original lesson plan.
  • The original lesson plan has already been added to a class calendar.
  • A revised version is needed for future instruction.
  • The lesson plan needs to be adapted for a different unit, topic, or academic period.

Important Notes

  • Copying a lesson plan does not change the original lesson plan.
  • The copied version can be edited independently.
  • Review the lesson identifier before saving so that the copied lesson plan can be easily distinguished from the original.
  • Lesson plans that have already been used in a class calendar can still be copied.
  • The copied lesson plan remains editable until it is added to a class calendar.
