Enter Final Grades on Behalf of a Teacher

Overview

The Input Final Grade feature allows authorized administrators to enter, review, or update final grades for students on behalf of a teacher. This is useful when a teacher is unavailable or when administrative staff need to complete grading before report cards are generated.

Administrators can select a teacher, choose the appropriate course section and marking period, assign letter grades, add predefined or custom teacher comments, and submit the final grades for students.


Prerequisites

Before entering final grades, ensure that:

  • Students are enrolled in the selected course section.
  • The grading period is active and available for grade entry.
  • Letter grades and grading scales have been configured.
  • You have permission to access Teacher Functions.

Go to:

Staff > Teacher Functions > Input Final Grade

The page displays a list of teachers.


Search for a Teacher

You can locate a teacher by:

  • Using the Search box.
  • Selecting Advanced Search to filter teachers using additional criteria.

Click the teacher's name to open the Final Grade Details page.


Enter Final Grades

On the Final Grade Details page:

  1. Select the Course Section.
  2. Select the Marking Period.
  3. (Optional) Enable Include Inactive Students to display inactive student records.
  4. (Optional) Enable Show/Edit Credit Earned to enter or modify earned credits.
  5. Click Get Gradebook Grades to automatically retrieve grades from the gradebook.
  6. Review each student's information.
  7. Select the appropriate Letter Grade.
  8. Add a Predefined Comment if required.
  9. Enter a Teacher Comment (up to 500 characters) if needed.
  10. Click Submit to save the grades.

Notes

  • If grade reporting has already ended for the selected marking period, the system displays a notification indicating that grades are complete.
  • Gradebook grades can be imported before assigning final grades.
  • Teacher comments and predefined comments become part of the student's report card where applicable.
  • Only users with the required permissions can modify final grades.
