Group Drop Students in openSIS

Group Drop Students

Overview

The Group Drop Students feature allows administrators to remove multiple students from a course section on a specified drop date. This is useful when several students need to be withdrawn from the same class due to schedule changes, transfers, or enrollment updates.

Instead of dropping students individually, administrators can select an entire course section, choose a drop date, and remove multiple students in a single action.

Before You Begin

Before dropping students from a course section, ensure that:

  • The course section has enrolled students.
  • The correct academic year and marking period are selected.
  • You have determined the appropriate drop date for the selected students.

Drop Multiple Students from a Course Section

  1. Navigate to Scheduling > Group Drop Students.
  2. Click the + icon in the Course Section panel.
  3. Search for the required course section using the available filters.
  4. Click Search.
  5. Select the desired course section.
  6. Click Select Course Section(s).
  7. Click the + icon in the Drop Date panel.
  8. Select the appropriate drop date from the calendar.
  9. Review the list of students currently enrolled in the selected course section.
  10. Select one or more students to be dropped.
  11. Click Drop Selected Students.

The selected students are removed from the course section effective on the specified drop date.

Notes

  • Multiple students can be dropped from a course section simultaneously.
  • The selected drop date determines the effective date of the schedule change.
  • Only students currently enrolled in the selected course section are available for selection.
  • Inactive students remain visible for reference but cannot be managed as active enrollments.
