How to Input Effort Grades in openSIS

Effort Grades in openSIS allow schools to capture qualitative performance indicators that go beyond academic scores. These grades help teachers assess and communicate a student’s effort, work habits, and social skills—providing a more holistic view of student progress.

This article explains who can enter effort grades and how the process works for both teachers and administrators.

Who Can Enter Effort Grades?

  • Homeroom Teachers

    • Homeroom teachers can directly enter effort grades for students assigned to them.

  • Administrators

    • Administrators can enter effort grades on behalf of homeroom teachers using Teacher Functions.

Notes
⚠️ Only homeroom teachers are permitted to assign effort grades. Subject teachers without homeroom assignments cannot access this feature.
