How to View and Request Courses in the Parent Portal

Overview

The Courses module in the Parent Portal allows parents to view available courses, request course enrollments for their child, and check the status of any enrollment requests.

Parents have the ability to view course details and request enrollments on behalf of their child, but they cannot make any changes directly to the schedule.

Accessing the Courses Module

  1. Log in to the Parent Portal
  2. From the left menu, click Courses
  3. You will see the following options:
    • Course Catalog
    • Course Enrollment
    • Course Enrollment Status

1. Course Catalog

This section shows a list of all available courses for the academic year.

Parents can view:

  • A list of available courses for their child’s grade level
  • Course details, including subjects, short names, credit hours, and grade levels
  • Filter the list by academic year, subject, and grade level

NotesNote: Parents cannot enroll students directly from the catalog. They must go to Course Enrollment to make a request.

2. Course Enrollment

This section allows parents to request enrollment for their child in specific courses.

Parents can:

  • Select courses from the Course Catalog
  • Choose available sections of the course
  • Submit a request for course enrollment

NotesNote: Enrollment requests are pending approval and are processed by the school.

3. Course Enrollment Status

This section shows the status of course enrollment requests.

Parents can view:

  • The courses for which enrollment has been requested
  • The status of each request (e.g., Pending, Approved, or Rejected)
  • Request details, including subject, course section, and grade level

NotesNote: Parents cannot modify the enrollment status but can monitor their child’s enrollment progress.

Key Notes

  • View-only for course catalog and enrollment status
