The Historical Grades section allows administrators to record academic achievements that students earned before joining your institution. These records are commonly used when a student transfers from another school or college and brings previously earned credits that should become part of their permanent academic history.
Unlike report card grades, which are generated from courses completed within openSIS, historical grades are entered manually based on official transcripts or transfer documents. These records can also contribute to GPA calculations when applicable and become available for transcripts, graduation progress, and other academic reports.
Before entering historical grades, ensure that:

Historical records can be updated whenever corrections are required.

If a historical record was entered incorrectly:
Deleting historical grades removes them from transcripts, GPA calculations, graduation progress, and other academic reports where applicable.
Each historical course includes a Calculate GPA toggle.
This provides flexibility when transfer credits should appear on transcripts but should not influence GPA calculations according to your institution's academic policy.
