Managing Messages in Inbox (Teacher View)
The Inbox in the Communication module allows teachers to view, read, and manage all incoming messages within openSIS. It serves as the primary space for tracking communication from students, parents, and staff.
Purpose
The Inbox helps teachers:

View all received messages in one place

Identify unread messages
-
Access message details quickly
-
Maintain communication history within the system
Accessing Inbox
Navigate to:
Left Menu → Communication → Inbox
Inbox Layout Overview
The Inbox screen is divided into two main sections:
1. Message List (Left Panel)
Displays a list of all received messages.
Each message includes:

Sender Name
-
Message Subject / Preview
-
Date and Time
-
User Avatar (if available)
Unread messages may be visually highlighted for easy identification.
2. Message View (Right Panel)

Displays the full content of the selected message

Initially shows an empty state:
“Select a message to read”

Updates dynamically when a message is selected
Viewing a Message
To read a message:

Click on any message from the list

The full message content will appear in the right panel
Unread Messages

The Inbox shows the total number of unread messages

Helps teachers prioritize communication

Messages can be marked as read upon viewing
Message Organization

Messages are typically sorted by latest first

Ensures recent communication is easily accessible

Older messages remain available for reference
