View System Access Log

Overview

The System Access Log allows authorized users to review login activity in openSIS. It shows who accessed the system, when the login happened, whether the login was successful or failed, the failure count, and the IP address used for access.

This log is useful for monitoring system access, checking login issues, and supporting internal audit or security review.

Steps to View the System Access Log

  1. Log in to openSIS with an authorized user account.
  2. Go to the left menu.
  3. Click Tools.
  4. Under System Logs, click Access Log.
  5. The Access Log page opens.
  6. Select the From Date and To Date.
  7. Click Search.
  8. The system displays access records for the selected date range.

Search and Filter Options

OptionDescription
From DateSelects the starting date for the access log search.
To DateSelects the ending date for the access log search.
Search ButtonDisplays access log records between the selected dates.
Search BoxAllows users to search within the displayed log records.
Filter IconHelps apply additional filtering options, if available.
Excel IconExports the access log data to an Excel file.
Delete LogDeletes access log records. Use this option carefully.
Items per PageControls how many records are shown on one page.
PaginationAllows users to move through multiple pages of log records.

Access Log Columns

ColumnDescription
Login Date & TimeShows the date and time when the login attempt occurred.
Login EmailShows the email address used for login.
NameShows the name of the user.
ProfileShows the user profile or role, such as School Administrator.
Failure CountShows the number of failed login attempts recorded for the user.
StatusShows whether the login attempt was successful or failed.
IP AddressShows the IP address used during the login attempt, when available.

Export Access Log to Excel

  1. Open the Access Log page.
  2. Select the required date range.
  3. Click Search.
  4. Click the Excel icon.
  5. The displayed access log data is downloaded in Excel format.

Important Notes

  • Access to the System Access Log depends on user role and permissions.
  • Use the date range fields to narrow down the log results.
  • Failed login records can help identify incorrect login attempts or access issues.
  • Exported log files may contain sensitive user and access information.
  • Share exported log files only with authorized users.
  • Use Delete Log only when log deletion is required and approved.
