Overview
The Attendance tab allows teachers to record daily attendance for students in a class. It provides an easy interface to mark students as present, absent, tardy, or other attendance statuses.
This is a daily-use feature for teachers.
How to Access
- Go to Courses → My Classes
- Select a class
- Click on the Attendance tab
Select Date
At the top of the screen:
- Choose the attendance date
- Navigate between days using arrows or calendar picker
Ensures attendance is recorded for the correct day.
Student List
The screen displays all students in the class with:
- Student Name
- Student ID
- Grade Level
Each student has selectable attendance options.
Attendance Codes
For each student, teachers can select an attendance status from the available options.
Important:
The attendance codes shown here are configured by the school administrator.
Examples may include:
- Present
- Absent
- Tardy
- Late
- Half Day
- Excused Absence
However, these options may vary depending on your school’s configuration.
Teachers can only select from predefined codes, not create or modify them.
- Use the comment icon to add notes for a student
- Useful for recording reasons (e.g., medical, late arrival)
System Notifications
You may see alerts such as:
- ❗ “Attendance has not been taken for this period”
- ❗ Missing attendance warning
These reminders help ensure attendance is not skipped.
Additional Options
- Show Extra School Days → Include additional calendar days
- Show Short Name → Display abbreviated student names
What You Can Do Here
Teachers can:
- Mark attendance for each student
- Update attendance for different dates
- Add comments
- View attendance status
Restrictions
Teachers cannot:

These are managed by administrators.

- Take attendance at the start of each class
