Using Notices and Quick Access Items on the Administrator Dashboard

Overview

The Administrator Dashboard includes several tools that help administrators respond to pending tasks, access frequently used features, communicate with users, and get assistance without navigating through multiple menus.

Dashboard Notices

The Alerts section displays items that require administrative attention.

Depending on your institution's activity, notices may include:

  • Messages
  • Student applications
  • Course requests
  • Missing attendance

Each notice displays the number of pending items, allowing administrators to quickly identify tasks that require action.

Quick Add

The Quick Add panel provides shortcuts for frequently performed administrative tasks.

Available actions may include:

  • Send Message
  • Add Referral
  • Add Fees
  • Add Activity
  • Add Absence
  • Add Subscription

Selecting one of these options opens the corresponding page or form, reducing the number of navigation steps required.

Messages

The Messages widget displays recent communications within the system.

Administrators can quickly review recent conversations and open the messaging module to continue communication with staff, students, parents, or other users.

Calendar and Meetings

The dashboard calendar displays scheduled school events, meetings, and important dates.

Administrators can use the calendar to stay informed about upcoming activities and navigate to the relevant event when needed.

Help & Support

The Help & Support section provides quick access to assistance resources within openSIS.

From here, administrators can:

  • Access product documentation
  • Submit support requests
  • Find answers to common questions

This allows users to resolve issues without leaving the application.

Ask Piloo

The dashboard includes Ask Piloo, the built-in AI assistant for openSIS.

Piloo can help administrators:

  • Find relevant knowledge base articles
  • Answer product-related questions
  • Explain system features
  • Guide users through common workflows

If Piloo cannot answer a question, administrators can contact the openSIS support team for further assistance.

WhatsApp Support

If enabled by your institution, the WhatsApp shortcut allows administrators to connect with the support team using WhatsApp for assistance.

Review dashboard notices each time you sign in and use the Quick Add shortcuts for routine tasks. Regularly checking alerts, messages, and support resources helps ensure that important administrative activities are completed promptly while improving overall efficiency.
