The Parents List provides administrators with a centralized view of the parent and guardian records available in openSIS. From this page, users can search for parents, review their contact and relationship information, identify associated students, access parent profiles, impersonate a parent, review record history, filter the displayed information, and export the list.
Navigation: Parents
Each row on the Parents List represents a parent or guardian record. The following information may be displayed:
When a parent is associated with multiple students, more than one student name may appear in the Associated Students column. The Relationship column may also show multiple relationships when the parent has a different recorded relationship with each student.
Use the search field at the top of the list to locate a parent quickly.
To perform a more specific search, select Advanced Search. Enter the available criteria to narrow the results, and then apply the search. The fields available in Advanced Search may depend on the configuration and information stored by the institution.
The filter option can be used to refine the information displayed on the Parents List.
Filters are useful when administrators need to review a particular group of parents instead of browsing the entire list.
The Parents List can be exported when the displayed information is needed outside openSIS.
If filters or search criteria are active, review the displayed records before exporting to ensure that the correct information is included.
The parent profile provides access to the parent’s general information, contact details, access information, associated students, and address information. Users with the required permissions can also update the record.
The Impersonate as Parent option allows an authorized administrator to access openSIS from the selected parent’s perspective. This can help administrators verify portal access and understand what the parent can view.
Important: Use impersonation only when necessary for authorized support or verification. The information and features available during impersonation are determined by the parent’s access permissions.
The Data Edit Info option shows when and by whom the parent record was created and most recently modified.
This information supports administrative traceability by helping authorized users identify the origin and latest update of a parent record.
Note: The information and actions visible on the Parents List may vary according to the user’s role and permissions.
