The Address Info section of a parent profile stores the parent or guardian’s home address. Authorized users can review the recorded address, check whether it matches an associated student’s home address, view the location on a map, and update individual address fields when information changes.
Maintaining accurate parent addresses helps institutions keep family records consistent and supports communication, reporting, emergency contact processes, and other administrative activities.
The parent’s current home address will be displayed.
Navigation: Parents > Parent’s Name > Address Info
The Address Information page displays the parent’s recorded home address. Depending on the information available, it may include:
A field may appear blank when the corresponding information has not been entered.
A Same as Student’s Home Address indicator may appear when the parent’s home address matches the home address recorded for an associated student.
This indicator helps administrators understand that the parent and student share the same address. It can also help prevent unnecessary duplicate changes when reviewing family records.
When a parent is associated with multiple students, confirm that the address is still applicable to the parent before making any changes. Updating the parent’s address should be based on the parent’s current residential information and the institution’s record-management procedures.
Note: The indicator communicates the relationship between the stored parent and student addresses. Always review the relevant student record separately if the student’s address also needs to be changed.
If map functionality is available, the Show on Map option appears beside the Home Address heading.
The accuracy of the displayed location depends on the completeness and accuracy of the address. If the map does not identify the correct location, review the street, city, state or province, country, and postal code before trying again.
Select Cancel if you want to leave the edit page without saving the updates.
Enter the information in the appropriate fields:
Enter the parent’s primary street address. This generally includes the building or house number and street name.
Enter supplementary address details when applicable, such as:
If no additional information is required, this field may be left blank.
Select the parent’s country from the available list. Selecting the correct country helps ensure that the appropriate state, province, or locality options are available.
Select the relevant state, province, region, or locality. The terminology and available values may vary depending on the selected country.
Enter the applicable city or town. Use the institution’s preferred naming format and avoid unnecessary abbreviations unless they are part of the official address.
Enter the ZIP or postal code in the format used by the selected country. Depending on the country, postal codes may contain numbers, letters, spaces, or hyphens.
After entering the address:
If the parent shares a residence with an associated student, check whether the student’s address must also be updated. Parent and student records should be kept consistent, but an administrator should not assume that every associated parent lives at the same address as the student.
Important: Address information is sensitive personal data. It should only be viewed or updated by authorized users and managed according to the institution’s privacy and record-retention policies.
