How to Manage Dashboard Dashlets in openSIS
Overview
openSIS allows School Administrators to control which dashboard dashlets are visible on the Administrator dashboard.
Dashlets provide quick insights such as student counts, alerts, attendance summaries, and analytics.
Using the Dashboard Dashlets setting, administrators can enable or disable specific dashlets, allowing a cleaner and more focused dashboard experience.
Teachers, students, and parents do not have access to this setting and cannot hide or modify dashlets on their dashboards.

How This Affects the Dashboard
Only dashlets marked as In Use = Yes appear on the Administrator dashboard
Disabled dashlets are completely hidden
No data is deleted — visibility only is controlled
Role-Based Dashboard Behavior
| | Dashlet Visibility |
Administrator | ✅ Yes | Based on Admin configuration |
Teacher | ❌ No | System-defined |
Student | ❌ No | System-defined |
Parent | ❌ No | System-defined |

Each user role has its own predefined dashboard layout.
Only the Admin dashboard supports dashlet visibility control.
Best Practice Recommendations
Disable dashlets that are not actively used to reduce visual clutter
Keep critical dashlets enabled, such as:
Alerts
Attendance summaries
Messages
Review dashlet usage at the start of each academic year
Important Notes
Dashlet settings are school-specific
Changes do not affect historical data
This setting controls visibility only, not permissions or access rights
